Is playing fullback really a tough position to play?

I feel like most fullbacks are just in there to only block on short yardage plays. Do you ever see a fullback running the ball anymore or catching the ball. It feels like this position has died in a sense.I feel like most fullbacks are just in there to only block on short yardage plays. Its a good position but there are some very necessary requirements, you have to have a good kick and be able to tackle, both cover and ball and all. Some great ball running fullbacks in the SH with Dagg in particular, Mogg would be the next best. For catching the high ball, get a video of Folau for the Waratahs against the Cheetahs. Brilliant, hope the rest of his game comes up to that standard.

Not for Lee Halfpenny.

Leigh halfpenny and israel dagg two of the best fullbacks in world rugby leigh halfpenny amazing under the high ball and for a small guy he makes ground, he kicks alot and he kicks the penalties and conversions for wales, their like the last line of defence, in no way has this position died
