Weigs re a good idea but u want to do lots of low weighted reps This makes you stronger without dramatically increasing your weight limiting your speed

In training for rugby, you need speed, agility, endurance and strength. lifting weights at 14 is not a bad idea, just don't over do it because it will prove to be the opposite of what you're trying to accomplish.

Since you are only 14, I wouldn't suggest a lot of weight lifting (since you are still growing) but I would suggest squats and other resistance training. That will slowly ease you into weight training. Then start off with lighter weights and work up. You know your body best so if you think you can handle something heavier, go heavier
