Based on some of the performances of the 6 nations it certainly seems possible. The individual talent is there. But, as already discussed the lack of bonding and training time for the team means that it may not work as a unit. This is of course the issue with these types of teams

This is the professional era. It is no longer realistic to expect a "throw-together" squad like the Lions to consistently beat an established, 1st tier national side. It takes a full year of play and practise to turn a group of individuals (no matter how talented) into a "team". The Lions have about six weeks.
