If I were the coach I wouldn't want you to be caught up in the line out. Don't forget that as a center your aim is to receive the ball from the forwards after the line out, hopefully to make a run for the try line! If you are caught up in the ruck/maul following a line out you won't be in a good position for this to happen, you will probably be caught up in the ruck/maul and to be honest forwards are better suited to dealing with this situation. Anyone can throw a ball straight, you should use your talents as a back to get that ball from the forwards and go score some trys!
