I'm 15 and I've just gone through rugby pre-season and on sunday its our first game. I know to eat an high in carb meal the night before and a carb based breakfast in the morning. But how else can I prepare for the game? 0I'm 15 and I've just gone through rugby pre-season and on sunday its our first game. Concentrate on good hydration, and try to get a good night's rest. Tonight think *a little* about some of the laws of the game - off-side for example; releasing the ball when tackled; rules for the ruck that you need to be careful of. Eat your breakfast early enough that it is properly digested by game time. Keep after your hydration. Get to the pitch in good time, so that you get properly stretched and warmed up before the match. Most important of all: be ready to have fun. It is a game - something we play. Mark L.

its all basically in your head to prepare for a game like whats your mind set before the game and during the game

I'm 16 and what I tend to do is listen to music that gets me fired up.. songs that are fast are what I personally use, but it's completely up to you. Also I like to watch some videos on youtube of " Big rugby fights" or tributes to good rugby players and that usually helps to fire me up. I also like to imagine myself playing.. putting in big hits and smashing the rucks, I hope this helps :) Matt.
