Yes, of course! Rugby is one of the sports with the most contact. You are in constant contact with either a teammate or a rival player. The ideal is to be running through people without them touching you so you can score a try, but yes. You do have to touch others a lot.
Very simple, really: Yes. Rugby is a contact sport, belonging conceptually to the class of field-based substitutes for combat. Forwards *must* bind in scrums, once possession has been been claimed in a lineout, and in rucks (competitions for a ball that is free on the ground). You tackle the opposition ball carrier, and you come to the support (again binding onto another player) to form a "maul", moving the ball downfield with ball in hand. Forwards spend more time in some contact, teammates or foes, than do the backs, but all players are involved in physical contact, during training and during games.
