Is getting 10 tries in one rugby season good?

this is my first season playing rugby and this was at the state level. i was asked to join the all-state team as well.

Depends how many games you played and how many minutes you were on the field. If you played like 10-20 games then that is very very good! But if you played 30-40 games it is just average then. Good Luck

Well.. yes. If you are fishing for compliments here though there are a few things I'd like to know How many games did you play? What level of opposition did you face? What position do you play?

It is not about tries it is how you play and if you are enjoying it

Yes it is good. Having the ball in your hands enough to score 10 times tells a coach you have the fire a rugby player needs to score. However if you want to know if this is impressive we need to know more. Since there are no "downs" in rugby and because it is "make it take it" at kick offs one team can run up the score easily. In other words if one team is better in contact then the other they can keep the ball the entire game, staying on offence. A game that lasts 80 minutes can easily mean over a 100 points (or 20 trys) I've done it several times, it is not fun. -Nicky Asst. Coach for the USA Rugby team

As Bob said, it depends on the amount of games you played, and also on your position. I mean, if you are a wing, and score 10 tries in 30 games, thats considered a bit below average, but if you are a prop doing this, then its great.
