No, it's not legal, but neither is it legal for that little twit Cooper to hang onto Thorn like that - most refs will turn a blind eye to a player dealing with their own problems like that. If Thorn had've punched Cooper in the face (say) it probably would have been blown up. I'm glad Afraid Quade got his comeuppance in NZ during the RWC. We'll have to wait till he's healthy again to see if he's grown up at all.

Quade Cooper is one of those irratating players (I dont mean that in a bad way) he pushed the boundries but doing descreat little tricks that hinder the opposition What he did there is the players shirt/ hand (didnt see clearly) and tried to slow him down from getting to the ball after it left the ruck. It was illeagal, no doubt about it. First of all he was on the ground in a ruck he cant go grabbing other players like that while he is on the ground. It also can be classed as tackling a player without the ball

Technically that's foul play (by both players), but I can't see any official actually calling it, unless something more came of the incident. The game would be nothing but whistles.
