So i'm 16 and next year (gr.11) i think i wanna try out for the rugby team. Ive barely played (once or twice) but really liked it. Im about 130 pounds, play a lot of racket sports and am a fast runner. Just wondering what position i would play or some basics and tips. Thanks! So i'm 16 and next year (gr.11) i think i wanna try out for the rugby team. Ive barely played (once or twice) but really liked it. you could go Flanker, They are the guys who hang off at the scrums, Since you are a powerful and fast Runner, I would put you at Openside Flanker if you build up to around 190 pounds, they are agile, very aggressive and ball hungry players who will try to win the ball at every breakdown

If you're fast then probably a center, they are in the back line that run with the ball and do quite a large part of the tackling. You just need to learn the basics so: Catch, pass, tackle, lines of running and you'll have no problem
