Can sprinters and rugby players train at high elevation?

I play rugby and Im also a hurdler and sprinter at Los Angeles. I'm moving to Colorado Springs which is over 5,000 feet above sea level. I want to continue my training. Will high elevation naturally stop me from reaching my full potential? Will high elevation make me run slower than I did in Los Angeles?I play rugby and Im also a hurdler and sprinter at Los Angeles. You'll feel the effects at first, but you will quickly acclimatize if you stay at that altitude. That will actually help you if you find yourself playing at a lower altitude later on. It's not a big deal. South African players train and play in Johannesburg all the time, and it is even higher than Colorado Springs.
