Worlds best flankers?

Posted at: 2014-07-08
Who do you guys think the worlds best blind and openside flankers are right now? It's sort of an undisputed fact that Richie Mccaw is the best openside so for that reason you cannot pick him! I would say the best blindside right now is Sean O'Brien (I know he played openside but has been moved to blind for Leinster and probably Ireland as well) and the best openside either Thierry Dusautoir or David Pocock.Who do you guys think the worlds best blind and openside flankers are right now? David Pocock hasn't played test football for Aust since 2012 and as far as I know will not play test rugby this year either. I agree that maybe McCaw by the virtue of still playing international rugby gets the no:1 nod for the best open side flanker every year regardless of his form. So I will nominate Pococks replacement Michael Hooper as the best at the moment.

McCaw has not been the same since his sabbatical. I think there are a few in front of him at the moment.

Michael Hooper is the number one.

Steffon Armitage is doing very well, so he's in contention. M Hooper is a revelation.

Warburton and Lydiate have played brialliantly recently

Jack Lam has been in very good form for the canes
