One of the things thats admirable about McCaw is that he seems to be in the game for rugby and rugby only. Maybe its because over here in the UK and Ireland we don't get exposure to NZ press, but rarely do you see him on the internet or newspapers for non rugby related things. You get the impression he's a man who enjoys the simple things in life and doesn't get too caught up in the fame of being a nations icon. The fact he turned down a knighthood tells you all you need to know about the man.

Maybe they just like a bit of privacy.
