Could I play Rugby at 176lbs (12st)?

I'm also only 5'10. Could anyone recommend a playing position for me?

Sure, as long as you are not committed to playing professional rugby at your current size. Short of that, you could play several positions through school and university and into senior men's rugby. In the forwards, you could look at hooker, and maybe open-side flanker. If you are just starting school, there are yet more possibilities in the pack. Your current size would be just fine as a scrum halfback (a greta position), or on the wing. Again in schools-level you are plenty big enough to be a center or fullback, too. Or even a 1st 5/8, if you have or develop the skills. Start running, if you are not already doing it. Then go to training, identify yourself as a new player, and let the coaches help you find a good slot to begin playing. You can move around later if you want/need to do. Mark L
