Just saw on the news that Ewan is the man! Fantastic news for oz rugby, he has served a long apprebticship as assistant in the 01_03 period plus coaching stints at state francias and the the tahs /reds, taking both teams to the final and winning in 11 w the reds. Of course it's sad to see anyone lose their job so publicly and we all feel for dean's and his family on a personal level. But sadly, his man management and selections have been strange at times, ending the careers somehwat prematurely of giteau (would've been a great reserve at least in the WC with 92 tests, Phil Waugh, tuquiri, and the punitive non selection of Nathan sharp 99tests ,our most experienced forward for the WC semi v the all blacks, replaced by a timid hopeless rookie in Simmons). I shant even mention his ignoring of Quade at a time when the ball got nowhere into izzys hands. JOC hogged it all series and Quade would've done his best to spin/criss kick it.Sure there maybe been errors,but there also maybe been 5 tries!haha Whilst dean's did his best and we thank him for that now it's time to embrace McKenzie and enjoy the ride of Oz rugby for the next few years (this may even include having a 10 at 10 to maximise our firepower out wide- Izzy,mogg,beale and perhaps if very lucky,JoC.
