Does size matter in rugby?

I'm a flyhalf for high school, and my team hopes to win the championship but we have a slight disadvantage because our players are small in size,.. Can we really make it?

absolutely. my school team is the smallest in the competition by a fare while but we train much more than the others and we rely on our fitness and game plan to dominate larger teams if you play to your strengths and expose the other teams weakness you should have a good chance. good luck

maybe, maybe not-look at a player like enrico januarie of springbocks he is a first team player and the scrum half.where size really matters in scrums, mauls and racks basically duties of the pack.the line players can be small since small people are hardest to tackle plus they run like the wind just give your best.

speed and skill can run around big oafs ...big humans play rugby well in crap conditions where the pitch is wet and slow and ball handling is harder...crash, crash crash all the way down the field but smaller quicker teams who move the ball and themselves around the Field well might find the try zone more often on a dry fast pitch...scrummaging might be tougher but if you don't have a reason for that call it's a non issue.

not always about size i used to be two stones heavier and twice as strong but carried so much weight i wasn't fit enough to make use of any of it now the much lighter, and much weaker rugby player i am able to use all the strength i have combined with my new found speed and be far more effective! i play at a fairly good standard of senior rugby too!

Not really. In international rugby, yes. With a good backline and using the laws of the game a small side can do well.

Yeah
