does free kick rules applied?

Bill makes a valid point, but if you insist in being technical, I refer you to Law 18.5 "The provisions of Law 21 - Free Kicks - apply to a kick awarded after a mark."

Considering that a mark can only be taken inside your quarter, why would a team do anything but kick, especially as they can kick it out.
