I am an Irish supporter but I absolutely agree. I cannot believe that scrubs like Shane Williams and Christian Wade have been called in over him. Granted they play different positions, but they are so one dimensional. I also think Hook is better than Twelvetrees. Regardless, it is a joke that Hogg is playing 10, and they should have brought three 10s. Sexton and Farrell must be tired and beaten after such a long season.
A very talented player, but his problem is being known as a jack of all trades, and not specialising in any (Ironically probably a good thing for a Lions side). By playing multiple positions, youre going to be overlooked for a position if theres a specialist available for that slot. If only he'd stuck to one of the positions he could play in, perhaps he'd be fine. He can play everywhere but 9 in the backs can't he? That takes some skill at the top level.

I don't think he is what the Lions need. If you saw him playing for the Barbarians, you could see he did not bring creativity and was very predictable. I think Gatland realizes that you need new ideas and creativity to surpass the mighty wallabies, and he just does not see that in Hook. Sexton and Farrell bring that unexpected plays that can break the wallabies.
