Starting out at rugby?

Posted at: 2014-07-08
Hey there I have recently decided to give rugby a "try" :P I have just came out of karate where I have won the British championships multiple times but i know that this skill may not transfer to rugby. My question is how hard is it to play rugby at an amaeture level and then move up into a semi pro level? And if you dont mind can you answer the question - Is 18 too old to try and become a semi pro rugby player.Hey there I have recently decided to give rugby a "try" :P I have just came out of karate where I have won the British championships multiple times but i know that this skill may not transfer to rugby. If you are fit ( which you seem to be) as rugby is a very tiring sport and really dedicated you might be able to make it semi-pro but would have to live, breath, think rugby for the next months. It is not hard to start rugby but difficult to be good at it. If you are a karate champion you would probably play in the line where speed, agility are required but you would need to learn how to read the game well. You shouldn't be scared to tackle and go into contact ( even with props twice you size). Good luck :)
