Outside of the knee hurts. Pain when I squat. Initially it was when I would extend my leg. Please help

I cant tell you a name brand but there are a few guys on my team that wear knee brace when they play and its a gel padded one kinda one that a football player would wear but not as advanced hope thats some help sorry i couldnt get more

My advice would be ,go see a doctor for a referral to see a specialist and get it fixed.
