What is the point of the All Blacks playing the Wallabies this weekend?

To get the winning record to 17 wins on the trot

In terms of the Bledisloe cup not much. But these dead rubber/meaningless test matches seem to bring the best out of Australia, Thinking back to Brisbane last year and Hong Kong a few years before that. Both heralded a resurgence of Australian rugby ....sadly not as their slide down the rankings has begun, i clearly remember Phil Kearns and Marto nearly indulging in man love after the Brisbane test in 2011 while proclaiming themselves favourites for the WC.

If it was the ABs down 2-0 against the Wallabies, they'd be fighting over who would take the field.

I think, and someone with more energy might be able to provide some evidence for this, that the idea is that the Bledisloe cup series is to be played over 3 tests so that it will be a better contest as a series than just playing two tests. Some bonuses might be that it might be the final straw that gets Deans the long overdue axe, or the enjoyment I'll get from watching all the excuses squirming kiwis will come up with should the Wobs amaze everyone and actually win. Sam Scott-Young should hand out the jumpers.

I guess the point you are trying to put across is that the All Blacks are too good for the Wallabies and therefore pointless playing against them! You are either a full of it Kiwi, or a disheartened Wallaby!

Wallabies are to baller to be beaten.
