What kind of rugby boots?

Posted at: 2014-07-08
I play flanker for my high school and have used soccer cleats these past two years. however, im looking for something that will give me a bit more traction but still allow me to run. Since rugby boots arent really that available in the US, i was going to order some online maybe from rugby imports or somewhere. However, are low cut or mid cut better for my purpose? any recommendations and advise is appreciated.I play flanker for my high school and have used soccer cleats these past two years. however, im looking for something that will give me a bit more traction but still allow me to run. I played flanker last year, and I used the adidas adiPURE Flankers. They are a little on the heavy side, but they worked really well for my purposes, and I can still run fast in them. I still use them even though I've moved to center now in college. I also had a friend who used a pair of Canterbury boots and liked those. But I would go with something that does have more of a mid-cut and longer spikes so that you can get some more push in the scrum; then just the lighter you can get, the better. And another place to check besides rugby imports is world rugby shop.

I play rugby for an English rugby team academy and I use kooga FTX but I am a tight head but for my secondary school I was weirdly a flanker and used the same boots I recommend it
