What tips do you have for playing second row in rugby?

Not just with scrums, but just play in general

Ask your coach, we cant put the skills in practice over a computer

You need to push yourself, like you would anywhere on the rugby field. Follow your coaches directions so you know where he (or she) wants you to be in the game plan. Strengthen your core and legs in particular to help with balance and strength in the scrum. Before you can push, you need to be able to support your bady without messing with your hooker or falling. In the scrum, try to stay out of the way of the hooker's hooking leg. If you are on that side of the scrum, be sure to put all of your weight on the prop and the other second row so her moving doesn't mess you up. Your main function in a scrum is to be the 'engine room' and push through the opposition. The props also have to worry about supporting the hooker's body weight while she is struggling for the ball. Congrats on joining the second row coalition! Stay safe and I hope this helped!

Get around the park and make your size tell in the rucks and mauls. Work rate, work rate and work rate.
