I've read a few articles from the All Blacks nutritionist and they have a very high intake of protein. I think she also stated that they watched what they ate about 90% of the time, and 10% of the time they could eat what they want. LOADS of vegetables, protein, and carbs the night before the game.

Almost all stressful sports Take a high amount of calories and muscle power to play. You should be eating tons of proteins,Meat nuts etc, Calcium, and raw vegetables. All of these will help you stay awake longer play longer and harder.

Zinc, fish oil, and beer.
