I live in Australia and we have our own Rugby League competition called the NRL ( National Rugby League ). This competition is probably classed as thr highest and hardest rugby league competition in the world and I was just curious if anyone in America or anywhere else in the world watches this sport?I live in Australia and we have our own Rugby League competition called the NRL ( National Rugby League ). Fox Soccer Plus (which is owned by Rupert Murdoch) shows some League. But they show a lot more Union, as do the other major channels which show rugby (like NBC Universal Sports, ESPN and Sportsnet World). It isn't watched much -- League is totally dominated by the Union version of the game everywhere in the world except Australia (and northern England). That includes the Americas -- for example the United States has half-a-million Union players but less that 2,000 play League. In any event, both versions of rugby are overwhelmed in North America by the Americanized version of rugby called gridiron football.
