What rugby forward position handles the ball the most?

I am built like a forward and definitely want to be in the action, but I would like to be able to handle the ball some during the game. Would this be the flankers or the number 8? all of them. Hooker in the throw in or hooking in a scrum. Props on quick resets. 8 man during the scrums. I propped myself, and would be running the ball CONSTANTLY on resets while the backs set up. Also, whenever we were 10 meters out with a penalty, i'd be the one to bully my way into the trizone. For yourself, a tall guy with broad shoulders, you should probably flank or play 8 man though for sure. I'm sure you'll catch plenty of balls on the lineouts and get the ball from time to time to run. What's great about the game is no matter where you are playing...you're going to get your touches on the ball....just have fun bowling some guys over when you get your shot!

The one thing the 8man does that the flanker doesn't is play the ball off the back of the scrum. Other than that, the positions are pretty much identical. That alone gives the 8man an edge in handling the ball. Edit: Scot is correct. Although techical differences (to which I alluded earlier) do affect how often a forward carries the ball, the single most important factor is how badly the forward wants it. And how hard they work to get themselves into a position to do so.

the hooker has the most important role of handeling the ball but i would say the 8-man handles it the most. considering the 8-man is big and behemoth like, which makes him hard to stop
