Head gear for a wing?

Im a wing and want head gear, What head gear should i buy? and is head gear meant to stop concussion? please help! thank you

Rugby headgear (scrum caps) will do NOTHING to protect against concussion. They protect the ears and scalp against abrasions and small cuts. Not a half-bad idea (unless you think the Graham Rountree look is cool). But that's it. Concussions occur because the brain contacts the hard bone of the skull and is bruised. To protect against this - even a bit - one must have two elements, (1) a suspension system that effectively attenuates the momentum of the brain/skull system after contact, and (2) a high-impact exterior that takes the initial contact without damaging the skull, often with a crush-zone between the hard shell and the suspension unit. This is how bicycle/motorcycle helmets and American-football helmets work. Note with attention that even such helmets do NOT eliminate concussions, but they do reduce the severity in modest-impact situations. What to buy? Haven't a clue. Try to find a retail shop so that you can determine the proper size and get an experienced person to help fit you. This also will allow you to understand what it feels like to wear one. Imagine yourself running all training or even in a full game wearing the cap. As long as you buy a cap form a reputable manufacturer, if it fits properly it should do as much as a scrum cap can do. You sould wear it, it will give you more confidence to go in rucks (if needed) and running down the wings but it would stop a concussion but it does help.
