Rugby Fitness Plan for 15 Year Old Back?

Posted at: 2014-07-08
Hey, I'm 15 years old, 6 ft, 150lbs and I play Fly Half in Rugby. I want a Fitness plan that works on my strength, agility, speed and fitness to improve my game. I'm 15 so I don't want any heavy free weight training program's as it is bad for my growth. My rugby season doesn't start to February (I live in Canada). So I have a lot of time to prepare. Thanks in advanced all Information will be appreciated. HenryHey, I'm 15 years old, 6 ft, 150lbs and I play Fly Half in Rugby. heavy weight programs do not stunt growth. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lou Ferrigno, Shaquille O'Neal all started heavy weights programs in their early teens between 14-16 years old, they all grew to be over 6'1. Growth plate regulates the length &shape of bones. Bone grows around growth plate, not from the center outward. Growth plate is the last part of bones to harden. This makes it more vulnerable to fractures which can cause problems like unequal bone length. Weight lifting can stunt your growth if you damage growth plate." Weight lifting remains the safest sport when done correctly. Safety depends on proper technique, which your learn best using light weights. Weight Lifting for Youth.
