Rugby- why don't teams just kick the ball into the opposition corner?

even if they kick it straight back, you'd still probably be deep in their territory

They often do, particularly if they see a decent opportunity for a back to chase the kick, or if it will roll into touch and gain territory. However there are risks. A kick is only as good as a chase, and if there is no chaser available then you are just gifting the ball back to the opposition with space to run it back. Not a good thing. The other risk is that if the kick goes directly to touch, then the throw-in comes back to the point of the kick. Again, not a good thing.

Because its better to score from the middle if you can because it you score in the corner you have to kick the ball for the conversion kick from the corner is you score in the middle you get to kick the conversion kick from the middle

They do and it is a common tactic. Most teams use it within the attacking quarter. The reason is that if the ball goes over the dead ball line or touch in goal, the restart is a scrum to the non kicking team from where the ball was kicked.

They do, quite often... the problem then is that you're gifting the ball back to your opponents. They can't score without the ball so it's best that you keep the ball to yourself.

because first off it is hard to kick strait into the corner... you would need so much practice even with 15 players running towards you. And you only try to kick it when they are in you half (close to scoring) and they would not kick it strait into you if you did kick it in your territory.

They do. After a try to get the conversion.

Who knows where that thing might go. If it goes on to the crowd, and there is a hen there. She might sit on it. No playing rugby after that. Have you tried taking a egg from under a hen?
