Tackling who just passed the ball in rugby?

So when someone has the ball and you go to tackle them, but they just passed it when you get them, is that allowed? I know you can do that to an extent but is there like a limit to what you can do, or can you just tackle them when they just passed the ball, cheers. So when someone has the ball and you go to tackle them, but they just passed it when you get them, is that allowed? It all depends if you could stop your motion into the tackle. If the ref judges that there was time for you to pull out of the tackle after they passed it, but you went ahead with the tackle, then that is against the rules. The opposing team will get a penalty. But, if there was not enough time after the player passed it to stop your tackle, then this is fine. Hope this helped.

Depends how late you're thinking. If its at the exact time he passes it, feel free to smash him but if the ball is gone than you hit him you will probably cop a penalty.

Obviously try to beat out the pass. In some case you may want to tackle around the biceps to prevent a pass, especially in an overload situation. But tackling someone who already passed the ball does you no good. And yes, as listed above, may result in a booking.

No it's not allowed - that is a late tackle and usually results in a yellow card and 10 minutes in the sin bin.
