What breaks do you get in rugby?

like do you just get 4 breaks like halftime injury penalty or a try

Penalty, try, half time, substitutions. Backs also get short breaks during scrums, rucks, mauls

Really half time only. Play doesn't stop for a break because of a try or penalty, eg quick tap from a penalty.

half time an injury on the pitch when a try is scored slow penalty standing out of a ruck standing out of a mall standing out of a scrum line out subs really depends on what possition you are or enless your lazy ;) and if you loose the ball! ;P

Bill is correct that the ball is still in play on a try or penalty, and does not stop for most injuries. If there were a catastrophic injury that requires major medical attention on the field, I believe that the referee can hold time - but maybe Andrew will chime in on this. This probably also would be true if there were intrusion onto the pitch that interfered seriously enough to affect fair play - some streaker or whatever: referee's discretion. Hopefully you never will encounter either of those extraordinary situations. But from a practical point of view,. there are a few moments "rest" at certain points for most of the players. After a try, you will see everyone retreat, although the game is continuing. Players, except the kicker, are resting as best they can on penalties, both long-arm and short-arm. There are brief moments for deep breathing as scrums and lineouts set, or a referee is checking with his assistants or noting his bookings. Most of the backs are adjusting their positions and catching a breath during scrums, rucks, and lineouts. Are these "breaks" - mumble ... Mark L.
