What is &representative rugby&?

If you play for country, you are representing your country. It is the next step from playing club rugby.

Representative rugby is the next level up from club rugby. In New Zealand you play for your home club, if you are selected to play for your home union or your city competition that’s Rep rugby, from there you can be selected to a provincial team (ITM Cup) or third tier, from there the next level up is Franchise rugby (Super Rugby) Australia, South Africa and New Zealand second tier. Then comes National Level where you play for your country, All Blacks, Spring Boks, Wallabies and Pumas, (The Rugby Championship) and Test level. At least thats my understanding!
