5ft9 too short to play openside flanker?

I'm 22 and have stopped growing I am a very good flanker but on average most flankers are around 6'1

Perhaps, if you are talking about competition at an elite or professional level. But at 22, if you aren't doing that already then it is unlikely that you every will. At any other level, 5'9" is more than adequate for a good openside. Aggression and mobility trump size in that position. Our club has a great openside who's only about 5'6" -- it just makes it that much easier to get low for the tackle or to poach the ball.

Dont listen to anyone, I am 5''7' and probably one of the shortest rugby players around, but as long as you pack on some weight, stay quick, and have borad shoulders, theres no reason why you cant take down the big guys. Despite my height i now have a 46'' chest, triangular but never let anything past. Number 7 is the best place to be on the pitch.

It’s not about the size of the player in the game but, the size of the game in the player. Lots of smaller guys play this game, so don’t let size get in your way. Look up a stroppy little All Black called Grant Batty!

not necessarily I was a rugby player and Ive played against flankers who are small stocky and BIG!! hitters its all depends on how good you are at what a flanker does tbh I was skinny and tall but very fast for my age when i started so was a winger. Then i bulked a lot and weighed 15 stone and they moved me into centre because i was stronger and very good runner and passer and so on. they also did this because our backs where small so i gave them bit of size and strength and so on Mainly its all down to if you can play there and how you feel and if the coach wants you there or not.

Not at all. Oner of rugby's great open siders, Phil Waugh, was only 176cm (5'9")

You are too short for any real competitive sports. Try being a horse jockey instead.
