When does the rugby season start?

Depends on where you live and what the local climate has in store for you. In Western Europe and the southern areas of North America it starts in September and runs through May. This includes the Six Nations tournament which is played in February/March. Winters there are (usually) warm enough that you can play through them. Which is not the case in Russia and the northern portion of the US or here in Canada, where it starts in May and runs through October -- generally with a break in late July/early August because it's too darned hot. In the southern hemisphere SANZAR and Pacific Island countries it starts in February and ends in October, with a break in July/August for the Rugby Championship series. Internationally the major mid-year tests are usually played in the southern hemisphere in June, and the end-of-year tests played in Europe in November, with local variations from year to year.

It depends where you live and what level you play most programs where I live run from march- August at normal programs at the high school level there is fall rugby September till early November and spring end of February till June the rest of the tile there is snow on the ground or its summer

i dunno about the USA but it Europe around September October in the southern Hampshire in mid feb or the begging of march
