What is the game of Rugby League like?

is it popular where you live? have you ever played the sport. im interested PS: from LA

Mind-knumbingly repetitive. The contest for the ball is entirely gone -- no rucks, no lineouts and uncontested. scrums which can only be described as embarrassing. Six free downs to move the ball, with tactical kicking absolutely gone except on a 5th down because no one wants to risk losing possession. And because you never risk losing possession your offensive options are pretty much summed up by 4 charges up the middle followed by (maybe) an outside pass and then a kick. Which explains why the game is effectively non-existant outside of its stronghold areas in northern England and eastern Australia. In the rest of the world, including here in North America, the Union game is absolutely dominant. We've played a modified form in training, particularly when the weather conditions have been too bad to do any handling drills. It's useful for teaching younger players some of the basics before introducing them to rucking and real rugby.

It is very intense. My parents had someone who worked for them and he plays rugby. The first game I went to he was playing and busted his head wide open. Blood started gushing out. Sorry if that grosses you out or doesn't help. Ps you don't use any pads if you didn't know that

Rugby, Australian Fottball and Soccer are all far more forms of football here.
