Generally -- and especially in North America -- clubs will run at least two sides, one of which is specifically intended to develop new players. Some will run three or four. So in a word, no. Clubs which aren't large enough to run two sides are usually more than happy to accept any reasonably fit "warm body" who is willing to learn. Have fun.
