Why did the anti-tour movement protest against the 1981 springbok tour?

Both of the questions look certain to be school assignments. There is a huge body of information, back to time-of-the-tour news articles, readily available on line. Almost any search you do (, e.g., NZ protests +1981 Springbok tour) will get you the information. Don't forget to cite them properly as a source. Why don't you begin the research yourself, then if you have specific questions base don that, you can come back for further input. You do understand what "Springbok" means in this context, right? If you know the answer to that (hint: it is *not* the small African antelope of that name), then you probably can guess the answer to this question in the context of your class and the assignment. They believed NZ should not engage in sport with a country that practiced apartheid. The Spring Bok's had one token Black in the touring party called Chester Williams. The anti apartheid movement called HART believed this was just a ploy to make people feel better. The protests and demonstrations that followed has scared NZ for good.

Because it was a tour...
