By traditional I'm guessing you mean full 15 a side? 15 a side is infinitely better. In 7's you don't get the same intensity in rucks and mauls, which are very few and far between anyway. The intense physical ferocity of 15 a side rugby means it would be impossible to complete a competition within an Olympic time frame, hence it's easier to play 7's which does not have the same amount of physicallity but no shortage of skill and flair.
Both are very good. Sevens is more of a summer sport, which is during the traditional, 15-a-side, off season so people can enjoy both, playing or watching!
It's mainly personal preference. I like 15's a lot better though.
15s are better for me (I'm a prop so less moving sideline to sideline)
