I play the as prop for my school rugby team, in my first game the other prop was using some new technique i hadnt seen before. When we locked heads in the scrum somehow he'd lift me off my toes, his head would be on my chest and it felt like my sternum was going to cave in, i dont know where he placed his arms though, what is this called? Well it sounds like he just lifted you. It is legal i think he obviously just went lower than you and drove up.But if you could not feel his hand on your side (or where ever props should put there hands) Thats illegal. So as to how to do it go low and drive up kinda like a tackle.

I don't know what its called but thats illegal binding how did the ref not see that?
