Legend Larkham possibly coming out of retirement, thoughts?

Gutted for Lealiifano.

Clutching at straws, here. Larkham was one of the greats. He may still be fit enough to play but he would have absolutely no match fitness. It may work out but I wouldn't be too hopeful. What's wrong with 10s in the ACT rugby comp or the Shute Shield.

I heard that too. It is a mistake if he does. Let them invest in the youth and build a team for the long term

I can't believe this is legit and not just a headline grab. Larkham is 37, he's too old EDIT Sorry dude, wasn't aiming that at you, but at Jake White, I saw the news coverage too Didn't make it very clear, my apologies

A long-time issue for AUS has been the limited development programmes (compared to NZ and RSA, especially) for players below Super-level. The current crisis at 1st 5/8 highlights this. Surely a healthy programme would not have a Super-15 franchise turning to someone who has not played at Super level for 5 years. Careful with the wise cracks about Saints Row - I got a violation for being mean on the latest one. Well, for not answering the question, according to YA, but evidently the questioner - having already agreed that it was the wrong section - thought I was off side. Mark L.

Its probably asking too much of him at 37 years old to play a full 80 Min's of super rugby. So I'm assuming he will cover 5/8 in some kind of impact role. Its worth mentioning that Carlos Spencer played for the Lions a couple of years ago at the age of 36 and Tana Umaga for the Chiefs last year aged 38 -- while they didn't set the super rugby comps on fire their experience was invaluable to the younger players.

Bad idea. The guy has given his best years to rugby and been very successful. Let him mentor new people in his role as back coach.I just feel this could blow up in their face.
