Where can I play Rugby League in America?

I've been in Australia for the past 3 weeks and grew very fond of the NRL. My mum's side of the family is from Queensland, Australia so they are huge league fans (Go Maroons and Broncos!) I'm 18 years old and was wondering if there are any clubs in the states that people know of (specifically in the California area) Thanks!I've been in Australia for the past 3 weeks and grew very fond of the NRL. The honest answer is that you probably can't. Rugby League is virtually unknown in North America. Amateur clubs do exist, but they are very far and few in-between. There are some semi-pro teams, but their situation is complicated by the fact that (currently) two rival organizations are trying to govern the sport in the USA. One of these is essentally a division of the Murdoch media empire, the other more home-grown. For what it's worth, you can see the two respective websites at and You would have a lot better luck if you looked for a Union club. Rugby Union is actually pretty common here. Pretty much any major community in Canada or the United States will have or more of clubs. It's a better game too, in my humble opinion.
