I know I need for my coach to decide where I play but I would like to have an idea of where I might play. I'm 14 and will be playing for a 17u team. I play football and play defensive end/outside linebacker. I am 6 foot 3 and 170 pounds. At 14 playing in an under 17 side, I'd say to start off on the wing to get used to playing against much older, bigger and experienced boys.

Flanker or 8 man for sure. Tall with a big frame but not too heavy, you'd be suited to go up and bring down the ball on lineouts. Sound just about the same size as our South African import 8 man when I was playing in college, and he was a PERFECT fit at that spot (didn't hurt that he grew up playing his entire life either i suppose!). Well if you are fast then wingers is the spot. U17 when 14 is a big step up so wing is probably good. You have got to be a good 1 on 1 tackler. Good luck
