He is to young to discount at this stage.He has all the talent needed.He will need to get his confidence back and show he wants to be there.
I don't see why not. Dan Carter only has a few years left in him, and he certainly won't be here after the next world cup. Unless any new players burst onto the scene over the next three or so years, I'd expect Colin Slade and Aaron Cruden to be the two main canditates for the starting spot, with the other taking a place on the bench. Personally, my preference is Cruden, I prefer the way he plays the game and he seems to be troubled by injury much less than Slade, who has had a lot of injury problems (obviously).
Colin Slade is a talented player, and Dan Carter can't last a whole lot longer. At his age, he is just one serious injury away from the end of his career. And Carter's His successor at #10 -- or even the future #21 spot -- is far from clear. The AllBlacks would be very foolish not to keep Slade in the picture.
