When is a dump tackle needed in rugby?

When playing the french

When you want to start up a scrap = fight haha Rugby club days But really, never

whenever the opposite team are playing dirty

Dump tackles, that is, lifting players up and dropping them on their heads are illegal and result in sin binning and more likely send offs and suspension. The reason the tackles are illegal is because they can be extremely dangerous and cause spinal injuries leading to permanent paralysis and possibly death. From a team point of view, getting sin binned or sent off doesn't help your team and from an ethical point of view, if you truly desire to maim or kill someone you should seek help. So in answer to your question - NEVER!!!!!!
