Will a broken bone stop me from playing rugby?

I broke my scaphoid bone a week ago and I've been wanting to start rugby for a while and wondered if that would stop me from playing?

it depends on the importance of the game if it is for a big title I would say and say no at the same time but if it is a bad break I would say don't play but I personally have played a full game with my right hand broken right across the palm of the hand and play well but let me say this it did not feel good one bit

If you don't get a broken scaphoid plastered you'll end up with arthritis in your wrist.

How big is your next game? If it's a must win you should be playing.

You can do rugby training. I know a lad who came in a cast after breaking his wrist, and still did passing, catching, general fitness and even got involved in the rucks, though he didn't get involved in the tackling, for obvious reasons. Make the judgement yourself. If it's all fine and healed, then play. If not, then don't do anything that will contact it. Simple.
