Advise needed for Wing?

Posted at: 2014-07-08
17 this year, 68kg give or take 1kg, 178cm tall. I've only played twice so far (both friendlies); I played as Blindside Wing (and once as inside); not my favourite position and I'm not really good at it as I'm not fast but my coach put me there because I can (sometimes) go through defences and tackles hard. I'm not very good with tactics and I usually just run the ball and gain as much ground as I can. As I think I might be playing as wing some more, any advice for me? What should I focus on in training and off? Also, with the lack of tactical, can I still play as a center (wouldn't mind as outside)?17 this year, 68kg give or take 1kg, 178cm tall. The only difference between wing and the centres is that the centres are larger, more powerful players. If you can hit harder and run harder, you can probably be a centre. Otherwise, to be a good wing, train for speed, as well as strength. Talk to some other player on your team who are wingers, or just backs in general and see what they do for training, and ask if they can give you advice. Also ask your coaches for tips. If you are unhappy with your position, you can request your coach for a chance at another position.
