ive been playing for a couple months so im still learning, the other day someone told me to try to catch the ball only with one hand. Is this a normal tecnic to improove your catching or was this person just trying to make me look stupid?ive been playing for a couple months so im still learning, the other day someone told me to try to catch the ball only with one hand. Always catch the ball in two hands and also two hands when running because its then less obvious for the opposition to see which direction your going to pass the ball in unless your about to do a hand off

Lol. This "someone" is trying to make you look stupid, two hands is the technique - with hands close to your body/chest like you are hugging the ball when you catch it.

I never understood why but catching the ball one handed has always come easy to me and especially while running flicking the ball into my chest and then taking it in my stride but never the less in most cases catching the ball two handed is the better and safer way of doing it

Always two hands, you try catch the ball with one hand in a match and I can guarantee your teammates and coach will not be best pleased.
