How To Catch A Rugby Ball?

Well today i have Physical Education in school and my team practiced playing Rugby. However , I cannot catch the rugby ball well , i am able to catch it a few times but almost all my teammates can catch it while i keep missing it. I think is because i am fear of the ball hitting my face , stomach or head. Any help? ( We do not use rugby gloves to catch, we uses free hand )Well today i have Physical Education in school and my team practiced playing Rugby. I take it it is from kicks you are having difficulties catching? If yes, then the best way to catch the ball is to (1) always keep your eyes on the ball, (2) when making contact with the ball, pull the ball in with both arms towards your chest, (3) either jump, or bend your knees to take some of the momentum/pace out of the ball. Follow those 3 steps and you will be fine, especially keeping your eyes on the ball at all times. You keep your eyes on the ball, and the likelihood of the ball hitting you in the face, head stomach etc will decrease drastically.

First no one uses gloves to catch and keep your arms in front of you to give the person who is throwing it to you a target and I have been hit many many times in the face and stomach and I have had the ball kicked from the center line to the converts then hit me in the head it doesn't hurt that much just get used to it if your gonna play or just in class rugby is a hands on full contact sport so get used to it
