Man up and tell them the truth. It's not for everyone, and not liking the game doesn't make you a wuss, being too afraid to tell your friends you don't like it does.
If you don't like it, don't play. Just tell your friends you don't like the game, end of story.

Just tell them you have better opportunities to play with other teams or you need to get your grades up and your mom isn't letting you play until they are up. If you were actually well into the sport and got to a high level i advise you not to quit it will help a lot to get into colleges. playing sports clears out your mind when your on the field and is great for you
