i am a prop and i find it difficult to tackle those tiny backs who can skip past players. is it a case of running at them not giving them time to dodge a tackler? or what? i am 15 btw :Di am a prop and i find it difficult to tackle those tiny backs who can skip past players. is it a case of running at them not giving them time to dodge a tackler? or what? i am 15 btw :D

A basic rule is to focus on the runner's hips. A skilled back can fool you with a step, a dummy pass or even a head fake. But it is physically impossible to fake with the hips. Focus on the runners hips, and aim for the point between the hips and the knees, and you should have more success.

Im 15 aswell!! :) Try to concentrate on there feet then you can get on him quicker! And also dont wait for him to get to you, run at him! If you are a prop he will get scared easily :)

Hey Mate, Ill be honest with you, if your having to tackle the backs, then I don't know what your flankers and Centres are doing haha, but If you want some advice Just when they try to step you, charge at them and well fall on them that's what happened to me, when i tried to to step props emmm if your like defending then just rush at them, considering your a prop, you should be wide enough to cover the area that their trying to step

What I've done in the past is marking the player and pretty much preventing him from getting the ball. Or even getting to him before the ball does. Rushing up while they have the ball is only going to have them dance past you. You shouldn't have any problems if there's someone to help. You're a prop so the only advice I can give you is when you have a grip on him, never let go, grapple him and slum his sorry *** to the ground. Just make sure he hurts so much he'll think twice before even touching the ball. There's not much I can give you on how to cleanly tackle him. Sorry
