I can't tackle In rugby?

I try and try and try to tackle in rugby but I just can't do it I'm tall under 14 strong but I just can't!

Rugby is 30% physical, 70% mental. You can have all the talent in the world but if you don't have the right mind for the game then it won't get you very far. When I was growing up learning how to play, my coach always told me that whenever I was going in for a tackle, tell myself "that guy is going down" It's just a simple idea but it's very effective if you tell yourself that with conviction. Tell yourself that you WILL put that player on the ground each time you go in for a hit. Get yourself mentally set, and think about nothing but hitting him. That's just my advice. It certainly worked for me. Obviously you need to develop your tackling techniques, but that's for your coach to discuss with you and is something that's difficult to teach in writing. Good luck.

When you walk on to the pitch you've got to turn the emotion of fear into the emotion of love for the game. I learnt how to tackle by being on my knees and having a player jog at me, put your shoulder into their waist, lock your arms tight around them then slide down their legs a bit so they fall, with your head landing on top of their thigh. Do this a couple of times then proceed to stand up and try it, once again with the player jogging towards you. You will learn soon. Good luck in the future dude.

talk to your coach about it, also start out slow, get you and a team mate and have him walking into it so that you can get your technique right try it from a few angles as well as tackling from the side or back is different from one on one tackles, once you get comfy with your technique pick the pace up into a light jog, then a jog, then running, then sprints, also be confident in yourself and take as much time as you need to get it right, hope this helps and good luck
